What a Night! I was privileged to work opposite the duo of Dan and Steve this New Years Eve at Tanglewood, a very exciting gated community in Sebring. I'm used to high profile NYE gigs, in past year end celebrations I've opened for Elvis Wade and his 21 piece band, was booked with Jay and the Techniques, Freddie 'Boom Boom Cannon and Billy Jo Royal, but this was the most enjoyable and electric evening of them all.
First of all, the chemistry between Dan, Steve and myself was incredible. These two guys do a variety and newstalgia show, and do it well. The name of their act may not be the most ear catching, but it's the only thing about them that isn't. The duo was a staple at Cypress Gardens for quite a while, and...
the theme park's loss is our gain.
The venue seats over a thousand, but to ensure plenty of space was left for dancing, they limited seating to 650, (and were sold out with just Tanglewood residents.) Out of those 650 residents, at any given time 200 or so were twisting, beach-bopping, jitter-bugging or just dance floor frolicking to either myself or Dan and Steve. The folks were happy, the room was hopping, and the free beer flowed like... well, like free beer. MORE REPORT
