You may notice something missing here... That's right, my music. It's gone. No downloads. There is a reason for this, in fact, a couple of reasons.
None of the mp3s of my cover songs are, or are likely to be, up and available for download any time soon.
Do to the uncertain legal situation of making other songwriter's creations available for download, I'm not going to have my versions on my site anymore. Even the very heavily edited demo mp3s consisting of a verse and chorus of each song could be construed as piracy, and morality aside, with my luck I'll be the one in a thousand who gets arrested or sued. If you are a club owner or other entertainment buyer, I will see you get demo material
My original newstalgia material is another matter. It is not gone for good, but for right now, I'm taking them down. This is not a bad thing, it's a good thing, maybe a very good thing, I'll tell you why.
It seems that a few people in the entertainment industry feel that newstalgia music is becoming, if not 'the next big thing,' at the very least a recognized music genre. I've been approached by some folk who got my attention with kind words (which are very common is this business,) and then a willingness to spend money (which is much less common,) on things like studio time, promotion, etc. They are not novices in the entertainment field, far from it.
We still haven't ironed out details, and I don't feel comfortable discussing this in more detail, but, as a courtesy to them (yes, they suggested it,) I'm temporarily pulling my downloads. Hopefully they will be back (at least some of them) in newly recorded versions.
If you have "The Bob Song," or "I Want Your Everything," on mp3 or a CD who knows, maybe you've got a collectable!
